All UK construction workers need to take the Health Safety Test to ensure that they get work: but not all UK construction workers speak the same first language, or have the same backgrounds. Candidates with special requirements are sometimes worried that their needs will prevent them from taking the Health Safety Test. ConstructionSkills has made arrangements to ensure that dyslexic candidates, or candidates with other languages as their first, are able to achieve the correct qualification and go for the right CSCS Card.
Taking the CSCS Health, Safety & Environment Test with Dyslexia
If you are dyslexic and are worried about taking the Health, Safety & Environment Test, don’t worry. It is possible to make special arrangements for candidates who have dyslexia. Simply make a prior notification when you book the relevant test (remember to book the right test for your skills and position) and a manager or invigilator can read the questions to you.
Taking the CSCS Health, Safety & Environment Test in a Different Language
The Operative Health Safety Test is available in English and has eleven voice-over languages other than English. Candidates who are worried that their English will not be sufficient to correctly understand and answer the questions will be able to request their Test in any one of the following languages: Bulgarian; German; Lithuanian; Polish; Portuguese; Punjabi; Romanian; Russian; Czech; Hungarian or Welsh. If you would like to take your Test in any one of these languages please inform the agent when you make your booking. Your agent will make sure your test is booked in the right language.
Please bear in mind that the language that you take your CSCS Health, Safety & Environment Test must be specified when you make your booking. If you turn up to your Test and request that your paper be replaced with a different language, your invigilator will not be able to help you.
