CPCS A59 Excavator 360 (Above 10 tonnes)

What is the course?

The CPCS A59 Excavator 360 course has been designed to provide the perfect training, in both a theoretical and practical sense, for those people who will be using an excavator within the construction industry or land-based work. Completion of the course will ensure the candidates have the skills to safely maintain and operate a 360 degree excavator.

Course Content

How is the Course Taught and Assessed?

The CPCS A59 course is taught through a mixture of classroom based learning and some practical elements. At the end of the course candidates are assessed with both theory and practical exams.

Who Should Take This Course?

Existing operators with no formal instruction as well as potential operators requiring training are advised to take this course. A short course is available for those individuals who wish to refresh their skills in this area.

There are three specific subtypes available to operatives on this course:

Depending on the level of experience for candidates the course length differs. For inexperienced candidates the course lasts 9 days, novice candidates take part for 5 days and experienced candidates can take a 3 day course.

What Qualification Will I Receive?

Upon completion of the course candidates will be awarded the CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (after completion of the CPCS Technical Tests) and a CITB National Construction College certificate.

Entry Requirements

This course is for those who will be using a 360 excavator (above 10 tonnes) in the land-based or construction industries. Candidates must hold a CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) certificate, awarded within the last two years. Candidates must also have a good understanding of both written and spoken English.
