What is the course?

One of the key elements required to fulfil your role as a supervisor on a construction site is up-to-date knowledge of the health and safety rules.

By following this two-day course you will refresh your supervisory skills and be able to confidently supervise trades on site; carry out risk assessments and put measures in place in order to avoid hazardous situations.

If you’re new to the role of supervisor, or are considering it as your next career move then this course is also ideal.

  • The Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Specific site issues that challenge supervisors on a daily basis
  • Effective toolbox talks
  • Supervision of occupational health
  • Behavioural safety

How is the course taught and assessed?

The course is taught by an experienced construction professional. You will be assessed on your contribution to classroom discussions and group work, plus your performance in individual or group presentations. You must also complete a multiple-choice test at the end of the course.

What qualification will I receive?

Once you have successfully completed this course you will receive the Construction Skills Site Safety Plus Certificate, which is valid for five years. Before it expires you can complete a 1 day SSSTS Refresher course to renew your certification.

Entry requirements

This course is ideal for those that have recently taken on a supervisory role. You must have a good command of written and spoken English.
