Glaziers install glass in skylights, windows, display cases store fronts and on many more types of surface.

Along with different surface types, glaziers work with several different types of glass, including stained glass, plate glass, mirrors, and leaded glass.

Working Hours


Glaziers can expect to work a normal 40 hour week, with the potential for travel between jobs and certain contracts taking you away from home occasionally.

Glass Glazier

Cut, fit, remove and repair different glass applications, including skylights, table tops, shower doors and display cases.

Stained Glass Glazier

Specialise in the replacement and restoration of panes of stained glass for churches, cathedrals and other buildings containing stained glass.

Window Glazier

Select, cut, replace and smooth window panes in homes, commercial and heritage buildings.

Leaded Glass Glazier

Create decorative windows with small pieces of clear and stained glass soldered with lead.

Glass pliers, or grozing pliers as they are known, are essential for nibbling edges and breaking difficult cuts in stained glass and glass fusing.

Straight-Edges & Squares

A sturdy set of these precision tools will help you perform your best work. Specialist rules and squares are available for glass cutting that will not fracture, chip or peel and are durable and inexpensive.

Marking & Scribing Pencils

These specially designed pencils will ensure you can mark glass with measurements without worrying about your working smudging or washing off.

Caulking Gun

Seal gaps and bond glass panes with this widely used skilled trade tool.
