The Green CSCS Card is for operatives who carry out basic site skills - like labourers and hod carriers. The CSCS Green Card requires that you achieve a Construction NVQ Level 1 (or SVQ equivalent) or that you are recommended for the Card by your employer. If your employer recommends you for a Green CSCS Card they will need to do so by means of a professional assessment for industry accredited competence.
It is essential for labourers and all site operatives who do not qualify for a different CSCS card to apply for a CSCS Green Card. The CSCS Card is an industry wide measure of competence and experience, which is used to show employers and site owners that you have achieved recognisable qualifications in your trade or industry. Without a Green CSCS Card proving your possession of NVQ Level 1 or a professionally assessed equivalent, you may find site work hard to get.
The Green CSCS Card will contain the following information: your photograph; your full name; your registration number; and a CSCS Smart Card Chip. The Chip has all of your personal and industry qualification related information stored on it. When a site owner or employer hires you, he or she will be able to use the Chip on your Green CSCS Smart Card to check that you are who you say you are - and that you have the skill level for the position you are applying for.
To get your Green CSCS Card simply apply for your card online by pressing the button below
As well as achieving a Construction NVQ Level 1, applicants for the Green CSCS Card must pass the CSCS Health, Safety & Environment Test. Most basic skills jobs on site will require you to pass the Operatives Health and Safety
The Green CSCS Card is valid for five years. Construction Support Line can arrange a new one for you either as a replacement for a lost card, or as a replacement after your five years has expired. Simply call 0203 051 1004 or renew your Green CSCS Card Online.
