Almost all construction sites in the UK require job applicants to possess a CSCS card. A Joinery NVQ qualifies you for a higher CSCS Card and thus opens up better job opportunities for you. Construction Support Line uses the OSAT (On Site Training and Assessment) approach which ensures you do not need to leave your work place during the NVQ evaluation.
With a Level 2 NVQ you can get a Blue CSCS Card.
A Level 3 NVQ will qualify you for a Supervisory CSCS Card.
Construction Support Line follows the On Site Assessment and Training method for NVQ assessment. Our approved assessors will visit the construction site and watch as you work. You do not need to miss a day of work during the assessment.
The duration of the assessment will depend on the NVQ you take, your skill level and the mode of payment you use. Assessment for the Level 2 NVQ can be completed in as little as a day and the entire process is unlikely to take more than one week. Level 3 and 4 NVQs cover more units and the assessment takes one to three weeks.
To take the Level 3 Joinery NVQ, you must already hold the preceding NVQ i.e. Level 2 Joinery NVQ. There is no such requirement for the Level 2 NVQ. You need only look at the units covered in the Level 2 NVQ and establish that you possess the skills that will be tested during assessment.
The Joinery NVQ assessment is separated into mandatory and optional units. Each candidate must pass all mandatory units and at least one optional unit.
We have an installment scheme that ensures your assessment can commence after making an initial deposit of just £ 50. Fill the form at the top of this page for more information on the cost of each NVQ.
If you do not pass one unit, you will be short on the number of credits required to complete your Joinery NVQ. You must thus take additional units to satisfy the minimum credits requirement and demonstrate your competence, don't worry you will not automatically fail.
Joiners should take the Operative CSCS Card Health, Safety & Environment Test except those who have taken a Level 4 Joinery NVQ who should take the Managerial and Professional Health and Safet Test.
