Closely related to dry lining, partitioners specifically work on installing interior walls to divide large floors in modern buildings for soundproofing, privacy and resistance to fire.

This speciality makes partitioners viable for a range of jobs, including work in offices, shops, schools, hospitals and large scale jobs like arenas.

Working Hours

Partitioners work a normal 40 hour week, with evenings or weekends likely to be required depending on the type of contract you are fulfilling.

Dry lining filling knife

Fills all holes, dents and cracked patches on a wall, roof or floor surface. Advisable to have a selection of different sizes for different jobs.

Plumb-bob

This small string suspended weight is used to test plumb lines. It stops swinging when perfectly vertical.

Caulking tool

Widely used sealant gun that fastens gaps and cracks. Can be made of silicone or latex and used on materials such as wood, glass, metal and ceramics.

Electric screwdriver

Helps to secure boards into place. Useful for precise and efficient work - a normal screwdriver set will be too slow.

Sandpaper

Smooth off your work and the filler used in joints with this simple accessory.
