The higher the CSCS Card you hold, the more better the construction jobs you will be eligible for. The Roofing NVQ will qualify you for a higher CSCS card and thus better job prospects. Construction Support Line follows the On Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) route to the NVQ meaning you do not need to take a day off work during the NVQ assessment.
With a Level 2 NVQ you can get a Blue CSCS Card.
A Level 3 NVQ will qualify you for a Supervisory CSCS Card.
Assessment for the On Site Assessment and Training Roofing NVQ is done at your place of work. The assessors from Construction Support Line will visit the construction site and observe as you work. You do not need to take time off.
The duration of the assessment is a factor of the NVQ you apply for, your current skill level and the method of payment. The evaluation for Level 2 Roofing NVQs can be completed in a day and seldom takes more than a week. Level 3 NVQs are broader and thus assessment usually runs for one to three weeks.
There are no prerequisites for Level 2 NVQs. Candidates for Level 3 Roofing NVQs must however already have taken a Level 2. To prepare for the assessment, take time to go through the units that will be assessed in the Roofing NVQ to ascertain you have the requisite skills prior to making the booking.
Each Roofing NVQ is divided into mandatory and optional units. Candidates must pass all mandatory units and may be required to take an optional unit.
Through Construction Support Line's convenient payment installment program, you can make an initial deposit of as little as £ 50 for the assessment to commence. Use the form at the top of this page to get the cost of a specific NVQ.
If you fail a unit during assessment, you can take extra units to fulfill the number of credits required for the Roofing NVQ. The additional units will also serve to demonstrate that you have the competence expected of a holder of the Roofing NVQ.
Due to the nature of their work, roofers take the Working at Heights CSCS Health, Safety & Environment Test.
