CRO SKILLcard - Construction Related Occupation

The White (CRO) SKILLcard is intended for operatives who perform work that is related to the HVACR contracting industry, but is of a specialisation for which no NVQ or SVQ currently exists, and to which no existing units are relevant.

The SKILLcard programme recognises 43 such occupations, and a full list can be found here.

A White SKILLcard grants access to carded areas of a worksite to these specialists, and shows that they have at least the minimum health and safety training and site skills to work safely and effectively.

What qualifications will I need?

To gain a White SKILLcard certification, you’ll need to have already passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test.

As this category is specifically for those occupations without qualification programmes, no further qualifications are necessary, however an employer’s endorsement will be required.

How long is the certification valid?

The White (CRO) SKILLcard is valid for three years and can be renewed.

What is the next step?

There is no advancement as such for White (CRO) SKILLcard holders, but they may wish to take on a different role within the HVACR industry. If so, seeking a Red, Green or Blue card might be appropriate.
